Head Coach Terry O’Halloran commented on the opening weekend performances:
We are off to a solid start and have high expectations for both of our teams this season. Overall our times and scores are better than they were at this time compared to last season. Besides having most of our talented athletes back we also have a very large group of experienced seniors. Team captains Sarah Murray, Ella Hare, Sidney Hull, Hailey Marcus, Callen Aulizia, and Kyle Kimerer are excellent senior leaders. Our meet schedule is very busy in December and our two conference championships come early in January so we need to get up to speed as soon as possible.
There were other double winners at the Saturday meet against Wooster, Canfield, and Warren Harding. Senior Callen Aulizia won the 50 free (22.22) and the 100 free (49.57). Junior Jennah Markovitch won the 200 individual medley (2:28.01) and the 100 freestyle (57.53). Junior Mikel Flatley took firsts in the 50 free (25.21) and the 100 butterfly (1:02.52). Sophomore Matthew DunLany won the 500 freestyle (5:03.79) and the 100 backstroke (59.28). DunLany, Basista, Kimerer, and Aulizia posted two relay wins in the 200 medley relay (1:38.76) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:16.55). Flatley, sophomore Alyssa Dinapoli, junior Alison Kuras, and Markovitch won the 400 girl’s free relay (3:57.97).
