The Boardman Girls defeated a young yet talented Poland Bulldog team. “We have a great group of seniors! These 9 senior girls have been great role models for the younger ladies on our team. They were excited to see the large crowd that came out to support them and were fired up to swim one last home meet before their Sectional tournament,” Coach Cordon mentioned.

BHS finishes NEAC schedule with double victories

Girl’s Quad Meet: Boardman 191, Akron Firestone 182, Warren Harding 78, Canfield 62

The Boardman Girl’s team pulled an upset win over Akron Firestone in a Quad meet format with teams from Canfield and Warren Harding. The Boardman Girls only won two events but used their team depth to pull out the win. “Akron Firestone has quite a few returning state level competitors. They are well known for their traditional excellence. For our team to stay with them and pull the meet out during the 400 free relay at the end shows the competitiveness of our team. Boardman & Fitch rivalry adds another chapter

Girls Team Scores: Boardman 132, Fitch 53

On a cold winter night at Beeghly Natatorium, the Lady Spartans heated up the pool by winning 10 out of 12 events vs the Fitch Falcons. The Spartan girls won this contest 132-53. Their next meet will be this Thursday vs Akron Firestone. Their record now stands at 7-2.

Double event winners include: Alyssa DiNapoli in the 200 Freestyle (2:12.61) and the 100 Back (1:05.16), Hayley Ho in the 200 IM (2:32.51) and 100 Breast (1:13.76). 

Single event winners include: Madison Ricciuti 1 meter diving, Alison Kuras in the 100 Free (58.22), and Ava Velasquez in the 500 Free (6:22.62)....   Read Full Post

Spartans win one for the thumb at AAC Champs

Girls Team Scores: Boardman 560, Canfield 293, Howland 257, Austintown 248, Warren Harding 230, Edgewood 141, Lakeside 118, Liberty 69

The Boardman Girl’s team continued their conference success by winning their second conference title in two weeks. Mikel Flatley won Female Swimmer of the Meet. The girl’s 200 freestyle relay team of Mikel Flatley, Ali Kuras, Alyssa DiNapoli, and Jennah Markovitch set a new AAC record by placing first in the 1:42.32. The same 4 girls also won the 400 Freestyle relay (3:49.77). Other top 3 places to note: 200 medley relay team placed 1st with a 1:58.82 (Ella Huston, Abby Yocum, Sarah Varga, and Ali Kuras), Abby Yocum (Jr) 3rd in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 100 Breast, Mikel Flatley 1st in the 50 Free and 2nd in the 100 Fly, Jennah Markovitch 3rd in the 50 Free and 3rd in the 500 Free, Alyssa Dinapoli 1st in the 100 free and 2nd in the 100 backstroke, Hayley Ho 1st in the 100 Breaststroke, Madison Ricciuti 1st in 1M diving, Jordan Jones 2nd in 1M diving. ...   Read Full Post
