Boys battle for victory over Jackson

Boy’s Dual Meet: Boardman 103, Massillon Jackson 77

The Boy’s Spartan swimmers had a strong performance by defeating Jackson first time in 8 years by the score of 103-77. The Boardman boys remain undefeated with a record of 6-0.

Double event winners for the Spartans include: Matthew DunLany (Jr) 100 fly (54.24) and 500 Free (5:02.58), and Noah Basista (Jr) 50 Free (21.93) and 100 Breast (1:03.72).

Single event winners include: River Flatley (Jr) 100 back (57.10), Teddy Anzevino (So) 1 Meter Diving.

The Boardman boys swept all three relay events: The 200 Medley winners include River Flatley, Jordan Stackpole, Mason Rassega, and Siman Mascola (1:44.48). The 200 Free Relay members of Mason Rassega, Will Linker, Matthew DunLany, and Noah Basista (1:29.89), also placed 1st as did the 400 Free Relay members of Will Linker, Jordan Stackpole, Matthew DunLany, and Noah Basista (3:19.71).

Girl’s dual Meet: Massillon Jackson 110, Boardman 76

On Thursday night, the Lady Spartan Swimmers and divers took on the Jackson Polar Bears in a dual meet at Youngstown State University. The Spartan girls lost this contest 110-76. Their record now stands at 4-2.

Event winners include: Madison Ricciuti (Jr) 1 meter diving, Mikel Flatley (Sr) 100 butterfly (1:01.86), and Jennah Markovitch (Sr) 500 Freestyle (5:48.62). The 400 Free relay members Mikel Flatley, Alyssa DiNapoli, Ali Kuras, and Jennah Markovitch also placed 1st with a time of 3:58.91.

The Spartans will travel to CT Branin Natatorium for an invitational meet this Saturday, December 15th, and compete against some of the top teams in the state.
