Girl’s Team Score: Jackson 97 Boardman 89
The Boardman Girls lost their first meet of the season to top ranked Jackson High School. The meet came down to the very last event with the Jackson team in the lead. The Spartans needed to win the final relay to clinch the meet but were touched out by the Polar Bears.
Sophomore Lexxi Mihok led all Spartans with two individual wins in the 200 Freestyle (2:05.12) and the 500 Freestyle (5:39.31). Senior Allyson Schwendeman won the 100 Freestyle (1:00.24) and junior Ella Huston won the 100 Backstroke (1:07.53). The Spartans won the 200 Freestyle Relay in the time of 1:51.32 with senior Casey Wert, sophomore Julia Basista, freshman Morgan Russo, and senior Ally Schwendeman.
The Spartans honored their senior swimmers, Casey Wert, Bella Lonsway, and Allyson Schwendeman, with a special recognition including guests Cindy Fernback, TimSaxon, Jeff Barone, and John Landers.
The Spartan’s record now stands at 4-1-1 as they prepare for their NEAC ConferenceChampionship meet at Wooster High School on January 9th.
Boy’s Team Score: Jackson 114, Boardman 72
The Boardman Tankers lost their first meet of the season losing to the Jackson Polar Bears. The Spartans won three events vs Jackson including double winner Ethan DunLany in the 200 Freestyle (1:55.20) and the 500 Freestyle (5:05.63). The Spartans also won the 200 Freestyle Relay with the time of 1:35.03 with senior Siman Mascola, sophomore Caleb Satterfield, junior Carter Cailor, and sophomore Ethan DunLany.
The Spartans honored their seniors, Teddy Anzevino, Sam DeJoseph, Jackson Behun, and Siman Mascola with a special recognition including guests Cindy Fernback, Tim Saxon, Jeff Barone, and John Landers.
The Spartan’s record now stands at 5-1 as they prepare for their NEAC Conference Championship meet at Wooster High School on January 9th.
