Saturday afternoon, the Spartan Swimmers and Divers opened their season with a Quadrangular meet competing against Wooster, Canfield, and Warren Harding at Youngstown State’s Beeghly Natatorium. “Our kids were ready to race. They have been training in the water since late October and have been conditioning in the mornings before school since September. We are stronger and faster at this time than last year, but the Wooster girls swam a solid meet. This gives us additional motivation for the NEAC Championships in January,” stated Coach Carlo Cordon.
Single event winners include freshman Alexis Mihok in the 200yd Free (2:06.20), senior Alyssa DiNapoli in the 100yd Back (1:06.33), and sophomore Hayley Ho in the 100yd Breast (1:14.03). The Spartan’s 200 Medley Relay team of Alexis Mihok, Hayley Ho, Sarah Varga, and Alyssa DiNapoli touched first with a winning time of 1:57.72.

They can now believe in the work they have put in,” stated Coach Cordon. “Not only do we have talented upperclassmen, but our freshmen and sophomores contributed today in our depth on the relays.”
