Boardman Breaks Eleven Conference and Six Warren G. Harding Pool Records
Jennah Markovitch and Callen Aulizia from Boardman and Timmy Kubacki from Austintown Fitch were selected as “Top Performers of the Meet.”

Spartans move to 8 and 2 dual meet records with wins over Massillon Washington.
The Boardman High School swim teams dominated the 2017 A. A. C. Championships winning 20 out of 24 events. In the winning effort the Spartans snapped 6 Warren G. Harding pool records and eleven A. A. C. records. Two relays led the way. Freshmen Matt DunLany and Noah Basista teamed with Juniors Kyle Kimerer and Callen Aulizia to shatter the 200 medley and 200 free relay records. Their time in the medley relay was 1:36.70. The previous meet record of 1:43.49 was set by Canfield in 2016. The pool record of 1:39.88 was set by Canfield in 2008. In the 200 free relay, the same four boys posted the record time of 1:28.22. In 2015 the Warren G. Harding relay team set both the A. A. C. and the pool record with the time of 1:29.84.
The Spartan boys broke the conference and Boardman High School record in the 200 medley relay. Freshmen Matt DunLany and Noah Basista teamed with juniors Kyle Kimerer and Callen Aulizia posted the record breaking winning time of 1:36.64. The time currently ranks them as the third fastest time in the state this season. The conference record time of 1:38.42 was previously set by Canfield in 2008. The previous Spartan school record of 1:38.00 was set at the state meet in 2011 by Steven Brooks, Ryan Bailey, Alex Downie, and Steven Moss. The team scores were as follows: Girls Boardman 508, Wooster 389, Glenoak 355, Massillon Perry 231, Canfield 219, Warren Harding 182, and Massillon Washington 80 Boys Boardman 500, Wooster 414, Canfield 351, Glenoak 216, Warren Harding 193, Massillon Perry 183, Massillon Washington 129.
